For both sieges, the initial
landings took place at Kennington Cove, although the bulk of the subsequent
landings of troops, stores and
artillery took place at Flat Cove Brook (or Freshwater Brook Cove). I should
also note that Flat Point and Simon Point are the same, with Simon
Point the more modern name. As Flat Point was the common name in both French and
English during the 18th century, it is the one I commonly use,
although if you follow that practice in your guide you will probably want to
link it to Simon Point.
