NEW REPORTS

Certain projects from time to time require that certain reports of the Fortress of Louisbourg  be scanned and converted into html text format. Recently, the Louisbourg Institute was asked to examine the question "Fortress of Louisbourg Landward Outerworks: The State of Deterioration in 1744-1745 of the Palisades at the Banquette of the Covered Way". SITE DEVELOPMENT

The upgrades to the 32 sites presently under the fortress.uccb.ns.ca banner are virtually completed. Bill O'Shea is currently reviewing all sites. If you have any ideas regarding further improvements, please e-mail Eric Krause. All comments will be considered in the spirit that they are given.

NEW COMPUTER

The Louisbourg Institute went to the www with its site in 1995 on a Pentium 1. Since then, we have upgraded the Pentium 1 with increased memory and hard drive capacity to the point that further improvements make little sense. We urgently require a new, state-of-the art system before the inevitable crash. Accordingly, we are looking for $4,000 which is a turn-key quote. Any ideas on how to obtain this funding would be most appreciated.
