The Administration Of Justice At The Fortress Of Louisbourg (1713-1758)


 

Jean Laborde was very prominent in the legal administration of the colony. After several years as a notary royale at Louisbourg he was appointed clerk of the Superior Council in 1737. After the first English occupation Laborde held office in the financial administration of the colony as Treasurer of the Marine.
